What is NDA all about?

The national-level UPSC NDA test is held to select qualified applicants for positions as officers in the Indian Navy, Indian Army, and Indian Air Force. The National Defence Academy serves as the joint services institution for the Indian Armed Forces, where cadets from the Army, Navy, and Air Force all receive their training. The NDA exam is administered twice a year (April & September). The exam consists of written tests and SSB interview. The NDA is situated in Khadakwasla, Pune, Maharashtra. It is the first tri-service academy ever established.

NDA I and NDA II are two national-level exams held twice a year to aid applicants in pursuing a career in the Defense forces. Candidates must pass the National Defense Academy & Naval Academy (NDA & NA) Examination in order to move on to the Service Selection Board's personality test or interview, which is a two-step process (SSB).
