TELENGANA FORMATION DAY
Every year on June 2, Telangana Formation Day is observed to honour the establishment of the Indian state of Telangana. For the people of Telangana,this day is of utmost significance since it gives them a chance to celebrate their state's founding and pay tribute to their rich cultural history. The state government sponsors several festive parties and cultural events to commemorate this day.
HISTORY
The Congress Working Committee adopted a resolution on July 1, 2013, to create Telangana as a distinct state. The Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act 2014 law, which was enacted in the Parliament in February 2014 to create the Telangana state, went through a number of phases. On March 1, 2014, the Indian President approved the law, and on June 2, Telangana officially became a state having 10 districts, carved out from the state of Andhra Pradesh with Hyderabad as its capital.
What led the struggle to partition of states?
In 1969, the first Telangana movement become more active. There was a clear distinction between the Telangana and Andhra areas. Education standards and development in Andhra were higher than in feudal Telangana since this area was a part of the colonial Madras Presidency. Telangana residents opposed the merger with Andhra state out of concern that they would lose their employment to it. There are also cultural distinctions. Telangana's culture and language were influenced by north India during the Nizam's and Qutb Shahi eras of power. Festival emphasis is also varied.

With numerous cultural events, flag-hoisting ceremonies, processions, and programmes that highlight the accomplishments and advancement made by Telangana since its founding, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government has planned a wide range of activities and released a 21-day schedule to commemorate ten years since Telangana state formation. K Chandrasekhar Rao, the chief minister of Telangana, declared that his administration will begin a big 21-day celebration of the state's founding on June 2.
